Regarding the gameplay tweak, the patch notes (via Charlie Intel) show the following:

  • Adjustments have been made to player visibility to make enemy targets easier to aim at

Another issue from the Modern Warfare 2 beta fixed with the update was the volume of footsteps from both allies and enemies. Infinity Ward has taken care of the ambient audio mix and it will be easier to identify when an opponent is approaching.

Regarding the modes added to the game, the patch notes list the following:

  • Invasion Mode, where two teams of 20 players and 20 NPCs face off. With 80 combatants on the field, the “absolute chaos” is made even better with the presence of the new vehicles
  • Moshpit with third-person view returning in Week Two of the Modern Warfare 2 beta;
  • Quick play, knockout, and prisoner rescue modes also make their presence felt;

Fewer bugs in the Modern Warfare 2 beta

The Infinity Ward team identified some problems with the lighting in the Valderas Museum map, where in certain locations a light could be flashing on your operator’s arm. In Farm 18, Breenburgh Hotel, and Las Almas Market, minor texture corrections have been applied.
