Call of Duty Warzone enjoys a lot of time in the spotlight as one of the most competitive FPS games out there. With the best shootout of any shooter on the market, players continue to flock to Raven Software’s games despite the many issues Raven Software has faced since its launch in 2020.
While most of the best battle royale games over the years have hacked and changed maps, weapons, and core gameplay elements, Warzone has generally been more conservative in its approach. However, there are now rumors and reports that Raven Software isn’t just planning major changes to the game in the next few years – the studio is also planning a brand new sequel to Warzone as a whole.
While details are scarce right now, we’ve put together everything we know about a potential successor to Warzone, including a rough timeline for Call of Duty Warzone 2’s release date, as well as any Warzone 2 leaks that have surfaced.
Call of Duty Warzone 2 release date
When is Warzone 2 coming? The release date for Call of Duty Warzone 2 is reportedly set for November 16, 2022. This is according to documents leaked inside Activision.
This gives players about three weeks to adjust to Modern Warfare 2 before Warzone 2 takes over their lives.
Call of Duty Warzone 2 Platform
Call of Duty Warzone 2 is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. PC players can get the game for the first time in a long time via Battle.net or Steam.
Call of duty warzone 2 reset
It’s been rumored for a long time, but we’ve finally confirmed it: Warzone 2 will reset all your progress from the original Battle Royale.
This means you don’t have to take any weapons, skins or stats from Warzone to the sequel and start over after the game.
Call of Duty Warzone 2 News
Warzone 2 will be an evolution of its predecessor and will have the same engine, mechanics and features as Modern Warfare 2. While there won’t be shared weapons or content from the original Warzone, there will still be a tradition of packing post-launch content and seasonal drops.
All future Call of Duty mainline games will also run on the same engine as Warzone 2, which will make integration and weapon balancing easier.
We’re still waiting for some specific Warzone 2 map details, but leakers have hinted that the main Battle Royale map will feature POIs based on the original Modern Warfare game’s iconic map.
That’s all we have right now in Call of Duty Warzone 2. While we’re still a long way from a Warzone sequel, you’ll have plenty of time to engage with current Warzone metadata and hone your skills while waiting for Raven Software’s next game.
