According to the official information, the game is in its first stages of development. The project is being handled by Fool’s Theory, which has “a veteran team involved with The Witcher franchise.

This remake is what was being called by the codename “Canis Majoris”. Adam Badowski, studio head at CDPR, comments:

“The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD Projekt RED. It was the first game we made, and it was a big moment for us. To return to this place and remake the game so that the next generation of gamers can experience it feels like something just as big, if not bigger.”

It will be a while before we know more details about the remake of The Witcher, so CD Projekt RED asks for patience. However, this announcement is already cause for celebration for fans of the Witcher!
