Cobra Kai, the martial arts sequel to the original Karate Kid movie, is getting its fifth season. Production on season five begins in late summer 2021 and ends on December 19. According to writer-director Hayden Schlossberg, this season will finally answer the long-awaited question of what would happen if Daniel lost the Whole Valley Karate Championship in The Karate Kid Part III. However, this isn’t the only trailer that Schlossberg and his team have left for fans.
According to Josh Heald, Cobra Kai’s co-creator with Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz, season five will delve into the origins of the scrolls, specifically the scrolls Chozen gave to Daniel in season three. This season will continue to explore Robbie and Johnny’s relationship, with several characters like Devin and Moon getting more screen time. The ending will hit hard, and the story will set the stage for some very high stakes. The first nine minutes of the season were released exclusively on Tudum today (September 8), so viewers can see how things are heating up right from the start.
