We are getting closer and closer to returning to the world of Mad Max. Derived from the action series, the feature film Furiosa wrapped filming this week. Set for 2024, George Miller’s film has Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character.
The end of production was confirmed by Taylor-Joy on Instagram. In the caption, she says:
“What fun! Thank you to all the renegades. The crazy ones who ran aimlessly with me. The most fun, resilient and talented. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with all of you. Thank you for making me tougher than I ever imagined myself to be. Fire, blood and gasoline. FuriAnya.”
Furiosa follows the character’s youth, lived by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). The warrior is taken over by the ruthless Immortan Joe and joins the entourage of the track ace, who comes into conflict with another war lord.
The feature film opens in theaters on May 24, 2024.
