SEGA released a brand new trailer for Sonic Frontiers this Thursday (3), featuring more gameplay footage and campaign news. The footage shows the franchise’s iconic characters, powerful hedgehog abilities and fights against giant bosses, as well as highlighting exploration on Starfall Islands.
In the clip, you can see Sonic’s new moves in battle and how the hero combines speed with the abilities of dash, shadow creation, loops, and golden transformation. These moves are just some of the protagonist’s special moves and must be used to defeat the colossal protectors of the islands: the Guardians.
Names such as Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Big the Cat, and Mr. Robotnik return for an original adventure, now with a strong focus on exploring the Open Zone and hunting for secrets. In Sonic Frontiers, classic side-scrolling gameplay mechanics are included alongside a three-dimensional system with puzzle solving and more activities.
Sonic Frontiers will be released on November 8 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.

To celebrate the release of Sonic Frontiers, SEGA has released an animated short that chronicles the events that occurred with Knuckles prior to Sonic’s arrival on the islands. The episode complements the Convergence comic and brings more information about the origin of the mysterious portal on Green Hill.
