The Last of Us Part 1 remakes the first game in the Naughty Dog series, not just a revisiting of the beginning of Joel and Ellie’s story. The fun also includes, for example, new secrets about the characters. Check out the new details about the relationship between protagonist Joel and his brother Tommy.
User capnflacid posted on Reddit’s The Last of Us forum to reveal more secrets about Joel and Tommy. See, in the image below, a letter written by Tommy and sent to Joel sometime in his childhood:
“Hi Joel, I knew I should be super excited to be able to go camping, but I didn’t realize how much I was going to miss you. Anyway, I can’t wait to see you in a few weeks and tell Mom I love you and let me know how you are doing. Your bike. Mom will let me ride it one day – I doubt it. Love, Tommy.
In The Last of Us, Tommy is introduced as Joel’s younger brother. They discuss different decisions on different occasions. Sometimes even angrily. However, according to the content of the letter, the two are very close brothers and have had a good relationship since childhood.
Granted, this doesn’t add much to the plot of the series in the overall context, but considering the events of The Last of Us Part 2, it’s enough to make any fan’s heart even heavier.
