In theaters since last week, Black Adam has been dividing opinions among critics, but seems to have fallen into the crowd’s favor. On the Rotten Tomatoes aggregator, DC’s feature film has a 39% critical rating, but an impressive 90% from the general public. Playing the anti-hero, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson celebrated the result.
In a Tweet, Johnson shared the scores and wrote:
“This incredible score from the audience is very gratifying, for several reasons. It’s been 15 years. Thank you so much for all the affection and support. In the end, the fans leaving the movies happy is what matters. And that’s what I will always fight for.”
The feature presents the magical character for the first time in live-action, promising to change DC’s power hierarchy.
Black Adam is in theaters now. Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Noah Centineo, and Pierce Brosnan complete the cast.
