Wordle is back today with another challenging five-letter word for players to guess. Despite the popularity of this viral game, there are still people who haven’t tried it. So here’s some help for new players and others who need hints or full answers.
How to play Wordle
Wordle is an easy-to-learn but hard-to-master word puzzle game from New York Times Games. This challenging little game gives the player a new puzzle word every day, and the player has to start guessing what the word might be without any clue. Here is a breakdown of all the rules for newbies:
First, visit the New York Times Gaming website or the New York Times Crossword app. Next, choose a starting word. The word must be a five-letter English word and should contain some common letters. Enter the selected word into the Wordle site using the on-screen keyboard or device keyboard. Press Enter. The letters of the selected word change color, giving the player a clue to the correct answer.
- When a letter turns green, it is correct and in the correct position.
- The yellowed letter is correct, but in the wrong place in the word.
- Grey letters are incorrect and will not be included in the final answer.
Players should use hints to find another word to try; enter it into the website and get more hints from that color. Try new words until all six attempts are complete or until the word of the day is guessed. Word resets at midnight.
