
Chances are you hold your breath every time we post about some super-smart robot, but we swear this time it’s a cute story. Mobile giant Xiaomi has announced the creation of the CyberOne, a humanoid machine capable of recognizing human emotions.
The novelty was shown to the world last August (via TechCrunch), with a demonstration of the robot’s abilities.
The CyberOne walked around the stage and even interacted with executive Lei Jun, one of the company’s bosses. Also as proof that the machine rebellion will not start from him, the robot even exchanged pleasantries with the man.
Besides all the technological paraphernalia that allows the android to move naturally in all kinds of territory, the novelty is a tool capable of recognizing ambient sounds, including the tone of human speech. In practice, CyberOne will be able to detect if you are sad, happy or even angry around it.
